    $3.4 million committed to 122 new community projects

    Congratulations to the 122 community projects approved funding through the State NRM Program - as announced by ministers Baston and Jacob this morning.

    Grant recipients pledged $6.3 million towards the delivery of projects through the contribution of volunteer hours, free use of equipment, and donation of materials and money, almost tripling government's initial investment.

    State Landcare Awards

    Over 70 people attended a ceremony at Government House on 16 October which saw eight winners chosen to represent Western Australia at the 2014 National Landcare Awards.

    Hosted by His Excellency Mr Malcolm McCusker, AC CVO QC, Governor of Western Australia and Patron of Landcare Western Australia, the biennial event celebrated the achievements of Landcare by honouring groups and individuals from across the state.

    Enriched landscape captured in NRM snapshot

    More than 80 community groups reaped the benefits of funding to protect Western Australian's diverse environment and wildlife, a snapshot of the State Natural Resource Management (NRM) Program has revealed.

    The 2012/13 Progress Report, now available online, encapsulates the breadth of NRM work across the State using $18.6 million in funding from the WA Government.

    BIG Thank You to all community grant applicants!

    Applications for some of the $3 million available through the 2013 State NRM Program community grants closed 5 July.

    We received 190 in total worth almost $6.8 million. Applicants pledged a further $10.7 million in cash and in-kind contributions towards the delivery of project activities.

    This equates to $17.5 million worth of on-ground activity for the protection of Western Australia's natural environment.

    2013 Community Grants Applications NOW OPEN

    The State Government has pledged $3 million towards Natural Resource Management grants for community groups to undertake important environmental projects.
