BIG Thank You to all community grant applicants!
Applications for some of the $3 million available through the 2013 State NRM Program community grants closed 5 July.
We received 190 in total worth almost $6.8 million. Applicants pledged a further $10.7 million in cash and in-kind contributions towards the delivery of project activities.
This equates to $17.5 million worth of on-ground activity for the protection of Western Australia's natural environment.
Eighty-four community groups, 27 local government authorities, nine Land Conservation District Committees, eight Aboriginal organisations, seven schools and two university organisations applied.
Grant applications are currently with the independent assessment panel, technical panel and regional groups and will be assessed over the next few weeks.
A list of projects recommended for funding will be provided to the NRM Ministerial Council in early September.
A decision on what activities will be funded will be made by the Western Australian Premier and Cabinet in early October. Grant applicants, whether successful or not, will be notified of this outcome as soon as information is available.
