    09028: Protection of priority natural resources in strategic regional land-use plans

    Priority land and water resources are being protected and enhanced in regional areas through the preparation of NRM plans to assist in strategic planning for land use.

    The plans integrate NRM into regional and local planning strategies, schemes and structure plans, focusing on issues of state significance such as urban development in habitats of threatened species.

    Funding from the State NRM program supports the preparation of NRM plans in the Kimberley-Pilbara, Gascoyne-Mid West and Lower Great Southern planning regions.
