Landcare organisations in the Upper Blackwood have been using State NRM Program funds to raise awareness of, and to control, infestations of WONS in road reserves since 2009.

Bridal creeper has been the main focus.

    This project will:

    • extend the area of Bridal creeper control to large-uncontrolled infestations on private land and in reserves
    • map weed infestations and areas controlled
    • build community awareness of Bridal creeper and recently listed WONS through workshops and information fliers

Private landholders with weeds close to remnant vegetation will be encouraged to participate.

    Investment: $ 45 000
Delivery organisation: Katanning Land Conservation District Committee
    Project duration: November 2012 - December 2013
Location: Combined Upper Blackwood Shires of Katanning, Dumbleyung, Wagin, Woodanilling and West Arthur
