Wattle Creek catchment, a sub-catchment of the Blackwood River, is suffering from waterlogging, salinity, poor water quality and loss of biodiversity.

The Blackwood Basin Group is working with landholders to improve catchment health and preserve the biodiversity of the area through a devolved grants program.

Four landholders will be involved in the program and will:

    • fence remnant vegetation or low-lying, salt-affected creeklines to exclude stock and allow natural regeneration
    • revegetate where necessary with appropriate, local provenance seedlings.
    Investment: $ 50 000
    Delivery organisation: Blackwood Basin Group
    Project duration: January 2013 - June 2014
Location: Wattle Creek Catchment in the Shires of Boyup Brook and Kojonup.
