    13014: Nicholson Road Bushland restoration and weed management (Bushforever site 456)

    Nicholson Road Bushland is one of the most significant stands of remnant vegetation in the Bannister Creek catchment.

    The site has unique vegetation including two endangered plant communities and three significant plant species.

    Restoration activities at the site have been undertaken with the protection of resident Bandicoots in mind, with low-dense vegetation and habitat log placement.

    Project activities include:

    • chemical control of invasive weeds - Lovegrass, Veldt grass, Watsonia and Gladioli
    • hand weeding along disused tracks and boundaries of vegetation stands
    • creation of a bushland corridor, connecting with the Tom Bateman Wetlands.
