13024: Bugle Tree Gully restoration and community engagement

Since 1989, community members have maintained Bugle Tree Gully Reserve - planting trees, removing weeds and collecting rubbish from the site.

The Shire of Mundaring supports these activities and provides funding for weed control, revegetation and other environmental works, and for the employment of a Bushcare co-ordinator and Landcare officer.

This project builds on this good work.

    Project activities include:

    • removal of invasive weeds
    • planting of 1000 native seedlings
    • installation of interpretative signage.

Interpretive signs aim to inform visitors of the significance of:

    • riparian vegetation
    • in-stream woody debris and riffles
    • native plants and animals
    • weeds
    • Aboriginal history.
