13080: Eastern states wattle control in Redmond
Redmond is located to the north-west of Albany on the south-coast of WA. Remnant vegetation in the area provides important linkages between the Walpole Wilderness Area, Mt Lindesay National Park and Porongurup National Park.
Two isolated infestations of the invasive Sydney golden wattle have been identified in Redmond. Both are located in remnant vegetation on private land managed for blue gum plantations.
This project will control these infestations (approximately 180 hectares in total) to reduce the threat of the wattle spreading to surrounding National Parks and waterways.
