14002: Extension of revegetation to the northern and eastern boundaries of Lake Claremont to restore indigenous woodland

This project will improve the biodiversity of the wetland through weeding and revegetation activities.

Revegetation of the proposed area will also help buffer the lake from surrounding urban activities.

Lake Claremont is a conservation category wetland, a Bush Forever site and one of few wetland areas remaining on the Perth coastal plain.

It is also an area of cultural significance for the Noongar community.

It will also increase habitat and protect breeding areas for birds, frogs, bats and tortoises. The social benefit to the community for leisure and enjoyment are immeasurable, therefore it is essential it is preserved for future generations.
