14072: Rehabilitation of Zone 6 in Meelup Regional Park

Meelup Regional Park is an important Class A reserve vested in the City of Busselton for the purpose of conservation and recreation. It is 574ha and extends for 11.5km from Dunsborough to Bunker Bay. An increased local population and tourist numbers, and growing interest in recreation, is putting pressure on the parks natural values. 'Zone 6' of the park is a 'natural environment use' where nature-based recreational use is encouraged and catered for subject to priority being given to dieback control.

This project aims to rehabilitate selected priority areas of 'zone 6' to help protect and restore these areas as much as possible to their original condition. Activities will include trail closures (as part of rationalisation of existing trails), revegetation and weed control.
