14087: Protecting, restoring and regenerating the Blackwood River
The Boyup Brook Shire, based in the middle catchment of the Blackwood Basin, is an area of prime agricultural land and includes many major tributaries to the Blackwood River, most of which are currently at threat from salinity.
This project aims to assist three landholders to address erosion arising from stock access and degradation of riparian vegetation adjacent to the Blackwood River. Nearly 6km of fencing will be installed to protect the fragile Blackwood River from stock and more than 10ha of riparian area will be revegetated. A stock crossing and watering point will also be installed.
