14118: Protection and enhancement of the biodiversity of Booragoon Lake Reserve

Booragoon Reserve is a Bush Forever site and provides feeding habitat for priority species in decline on the Swan Coastal Plain, including Forest red tail cockatoo, Carnaby's cockatoo and migratory waders. Vegetation structure in the reserve is generally intact, with the major threats identified as being introduced flora and fauna, and fire.

This project aims to control invasive weeds and eradicate Japanese peppers from the reserve in a staged approach. Revegetation and restoration works will also be undertaken to protect and encourage biodiversity, and improve habitat and water quality.
