14172: WoNS control in priority shire reserves

This project will control priority weeds (including WONS) and undertake revegetation on high value reserves in the Margaret River and Augusta town sites. Many of these reserves abut National Park and provide habitat for threatened fauna (western ringtail possum, mud minnow, water rat and quenda) and priority flora species.

This project will focus on implementation of existing weed and management plans. It will also undertake weed control in areas recently burnt or planned for fuel reduction burns. Fire stimulates mass germination of many weeds and post-fire weed control is crucial in managing WONS such as Genista. Volunteers will work in partnership with experienced contractors to undertake the work.

    Investment: $ 12 100
