    15096: Vertebrate Pest Control

The Vertebrate Pest Control program was moderately successful. Over 450 pigs were despatched during the period. Of these 50 were by land owners and private parties and 400 by contracted field officers. The cost per head eliminated by the field officers was about $125 per head. This was considered a great achievement considering the large area for which the officers were responsible. It was noted that towards the end of the year the major concentration of pigs was in the southern section of the area, around Scott River.
