15228: Twin Creeks Front Paddock Revegetation Project-Stage 4

Formerly a farming property, this land was purchased by the Friends to protect the diversity of plant species represented across the 511ha and to create the Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve.  It is unique in the local landscape because of having a flora species range that represents the Porongurup Range flora to the south through the Kalgan River valley to the Stirling Range flora in the north. It is part of Ranges Link & the important Gondwana Link.

With this grant the planting team worked in the 'front paddock' where they ripped and hand planted 5000 seedlings in the low lying areas in September & October of 2016 (and another 1000 on the airstrip). It was a wet spring and good follow-up summer rain  produced a great survival rate.   It was a completely volunteer effort as the Green Army teams were cancelled due to lack of competent supervision and effective output.

    Investment: $ 10 300
    In-kind contribution: $ 15 300
Delivery organisation: Friends of the Porongurup Range Assoc., Inc
    Project duration: October 2015 - September 2016
    Location: Shire of Plantagenet
